Sudduth Goff was an early 20th century Kentucky artist known for portraiture. He studied at Transylvania University, Cincinnati Art Academy, and at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, under noted artists Frank Weston Benson and Philip Leslie Hale. He worked primarily in Louisville, Chicago, and New York where he kept a studio at the prestigious Hotel des Artistes. Goff was also one of the founders of the Louisville School of Art and of the Louisville School of Painting and Drawing. He exhibited across the country including a 1937 solo exhibition at the Speed Art Museum in Louisville. As a portraitist his work is housed mainly in private collections but some works can be found in public and corporate collections including the Salmagundi Club, New York; Christ Church Cathedral, Lexington; and the University of Tennessee, Memphis.

- toning to paper; minor smudges and stray marks to charcoal; discoloration throughout silver gilt finish of frame; nicks and abrasions to the frame.
