Joseph Michel Montgolfier with the help of his brother invented and constructed the first hot-air balloon. Jean-Pierre Blanchard was also a pioneer of early aeronautics working not only on developing balloon technologies but also working on refining parachutes.

Condition

- discoloration to mats; Montgolfier painting examined outside of the frame; cracks and chips to the molding of the frames particularly to the corners; finish loss, marks, and abrasions throughout frames.
