Aldo Cestino was born in Genoa, Italy, and lived there throughout his life. He was a pupil of fellow Italian artists Federico Piccone (1882-1963) and Ernesto Massiglio (1895-1974), and spent time as a street painter before settling into the Genoese art scene, specializing in painting and graphic arts. He exhibited work internationally as well as at home, with exhibitions that included the Tanaka Gallery in Japan, the 1987 New York Art Expo, and the Museo Civico Andrea Tubino in Masone, Italy.
