An original oil painting on canvas by listed artist Hy. Hintermeister (1897-1972). A wonderful painting depicting five gentlemen on a fly fishing exposition in classic Hintermeister style. The painting is framed in a pretty ribbed wood frame. John Henry Hintermeister and his son Henry Hintermeister often worked together under the pseudonym Hy. Hintermeister from 1890s through the 1940s. They produced a number of illustrations and were sometimes compared to Norman Rockwell. Their illustrations were used for calendars, prints and jig saw puzzles.
Condition
The painting is loose from the frame. There is wear to paint in lower left corner.
