Slava Brodinsky was born in 1955 in Birobidzhan, now considered Eastern Russia. He attended a fine arts high school and served in the Soviet Army. Brodinsky graduated from the Fine Art Academy of Birobidzhan in 1979. He participated in exhibitions across the U.S.S.R. in the 1980’s. After moving his family to Israel in 1991, Brodinsky’s work began to take on a new, brighter style due to the vastly different landscapes of Israel. He began traveling through Europe and painting landscapes based on his travels. He used mixtures of sand, paint, and plaster on canvas. His works have been exhibited and collected throughout North America, Russia, Europe, and Japan.
