An 1806 first edition of Noah Webster’s first dictionary, A Compendious Dictionary of the English Language. It is printed on laid paper and bound in a full leather hardcover with the original spine label present. It is complete in one volume, with only the title page missing (408 pages). A custom case is included. This dictionary was influential in spelling reform, helping to create the divergence between American and British spelling.
