Born in Takatsuki City outside of Osaka, Tanaka Ryohei is best known for his accurate and detailed etchings depicting the contraposition and assimilation between Japanese traditional architecture and natural scenery. Ryohei acquired his intricate printing technique under the tutelage of Professor Furuno. Later on, he integrated the Kyoto Etchers Group and exhibited alongside the prestigious Japan Print Association. Ryohei’s oeuvre can be found in multiple private and public collection including the Museum of Fine Arts Boston, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Portland Museum of Art, The Cincinnati Art Museum, the Cleveland Museum of Art and many others.
