Photographer Kojo Kamau was known for his photographs documenting the lives and cultures of people all over the world, including North America, South America, Africa, and Europe. Many of his works feature travel themes, community, political and social issues, and portraits of reputable artists and musicians such as Elijah Pierce and Nikki Giovanni. Kojo studied at the Columbus College of Art and Design, Ohio State University, and the Rochester Institute of Technology. A retropspective of his work titled Kojo: Fifty Years in Photography was held at the Columbus Museum of Art in 2009. In addition, his work has been collected by collected by the Columbus Museum of Art, the Columbus Metropolitan Library, the Columbus Foundation, the Ohio Supreme Court, Central Ohio Transit Authority, and the Downtown Columbus Hilton Hotel.
