This skillfully crafted portrait created from layering several layers of oil paint depicts a gentlewoman wearing a black and burgundy dress with white collar. It is unsigned. The painting is displayed in a gilt wood frame with hanging wire to the verso.

- craquelure; scattered areas of cracking to paint surface; surface of painting appears to have slightly darkened; slight warp to canvas; frame abrasions to edges of canvas; wear to frame including scuffs and cracking.
