An African headrest or stool, hand carved by the Samburu people of Kenya. A personal item used by African men to help promote sleep and protect ceremonial coiffures. The elevated headrest is elongated and slightly curved with chunky feet and simple geometrical decoration along the belly.

(some abrasions and accretions throughout).
