An alabaster and bronze sculpture by Italian artist Emilio P Fiaschi (1858 – 1941). This sculpture features a carved alabaster woman wearing a toga like dress resting her arms on the side of a bronze u-shaped bench with claw and ball feet. The sculpture is presented on an alabaster base. A signature is inscribed to the base verso. Emilio P Fiaschi studied at the Accademia di Belle Arti in Florence, Italy. He was well known during and after his lifetime for his mastery of composition and technical ability in carving.

Condition

- staining and areas of discoloration to alabaster; minor surface scratches; repair with fill to figure’s left foot and ankle; accretions to surface between figure and chair.
