A bronze maquette sculpture by well-listed American artist Glenna Goodacre (born 1939). This preliminary model for the Vietname Women’s Memorial was the first memorial for the American women in military service to be display in Washington D.C.
Glenna Goodacre graduated from Colorado College and studied at the Art Students League in New York. She has won countless awards including the Knickerkbocker Artists’ Gold Medal for Distinguished Achievement in American Art in 1993. Her more notable works are After the Ride, a statue of President Ronald Reagan which is displayed at the Reagan Library in California and a portrait of Sacagawea for the U.S. Golden Dollar issued in 2000.
