Donald Dodrill was a prolific watercolor painter and art teacher who lived in Columbus, Ohio. He graduated from the Ohio State University and received his Master of Fine Arts degree from Syracuse University. Over his lifetime, Dodrill served as president of the Central Ohio Watercolor Society, the Upper Arlington Art League, and the Bexley Area Art Guild, and he was a founder of the Upper Arlington Labor Day Arts Festival. In 1989, Donald Dodrill and his wife published The Transparent Touch, an influential book on watercolor painting. His artwork received over 100 awards in art exhibitions across the country, and belongs to many private and public collections.
