A 1968 limited edition serigraph on paper by well-listed American artist and conservationist Charley Harper (Cincinnati Ohio, 1922 – 2007), titled Early Risers. This image presents a striking display of spring wildflowers, including mayapples, trillium, jack-in-the-pulpits among several other North American plants. This work is signed and numbered by the artist in pencil to the lower margin, set behind glass and mounted in a black wooden frame, equipped to hang.
Harper was a beloved Cincinnati-based artist and conservationist, renowned for his minimal realism style. He was quoted as saying “I don’t try to put everything in, I try to leave everything out.” His work is delightfully laced with humor and sometimes includes short prose.
