Chinese Porcelain Canton Dinnerware, Qing Dynasty
Item Details
A grouping of Chinese Canton dinnerware. Each piece has naively painted decoration in blue and white featuring landscapes, boats and temples surrounded by a rain and cloud border. This decoration was referred to as Canton in the United States. It was made at kilns in other areas in China and shipped from ports in Canton (Guangzhou) to be used as ballast under tea chests.
