After graduating from the Philadelphia School of Industrial Art, Wayne Beam Morrell worked as a commercial artist and mural painter. Upon returning from the Korean War, where he served with the United States Army, he turned his attention to fine art painting, eventually leaving his career as a commercial artist. He maintained a home and studio in Rockport, Massachusetts where he was a member of the famed Rockport artist colony as well as numerous artist associations, including the American Artists and the Salmagundi Club. His work can be found in many prestigious collections including the Butler Institute of American Art and the Columbus Museum of Fine Art as well as many private collections.
