An alabaster and cast bronze sculpture by French Art Nouveau artist Paul François Berthoud (1870 – 1939). This sculpture depicts a nymphish female glazing directly at the viewer with implied contrapposto shoulders. The head and neck of the figure are skillfully carved out of alabaster while the neckline of a garment and base are cast bronze. Paul François Berthoud was a member of the National Society of Fine Arts and a founding member of the Salon d’automne.

- discoloration and staining to alabaster which is heaviest throughout crevices; light surface accretions to crevices; minor surface scratches; variations to patina of bronze base; spotting of brighter and green patina to base along neck line and areas underneath figure’s shoulders.
