Gregg Renfrow is an abstract artist from the Bay Area, influenced by the Light and Space movement that developed in California in the 1960s as a sub-genre of the op art, minimalism and geometric abstraction that was prevalent at the time. Renfrow’s work explores light through his chosen materials of translucent acrylic and various pigments. He completed his studies at the San Francisco Art Institute, and has been exhibiting his work since the mid 1970s. His work resides in the public collections of the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, Oakland Museum of California, and The Norton Museum of Art in Palm Beach, Florida, and the Weisman Collection in Los Angeles.
