Born in Ireland, Karl Mullen is a musician and Outsider artist currently based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He often draws and paints with his hands on found ephemera such as book pages, sheet music, and photographs. Some of his media includes walnut oil, raw power pigment, and wax medium; however, more recently, he as experimented with wine, tea, salt, spit and ash, and Indian spices, creating Art Brut style figures on vibrant color fields. His work has been exhibited at The New York Outsider Art Fair, The Armory (New York, NY), the Intuit Show (Chicago, IL), the Folk Fest (Atlanta, GA), and Arte Singulaire (Lyon, France), among other venues. His work was also featured in the PBS syndicated TV series Rare Visions & Roadside Revelations, and has been collected by multiple institutions including the Polk Museum, the Hurn Museum, and Robert Morris College, among others.

- discoloration to edges of gel medium; slight toning and warping to paper; pinhole to the upper center edge of sheet.
