Based in Pittsburgh, Susan Wagner specializes in figural sculptures and Fauve style paintings. Her sculptures are cast in bronze, resin, and aluminum, among other materials; and they range in size from a few inches to larger than life-size. Her paintings often feature painterly brushstrokes, vibrant nonmimetic colors, and simplified lines. Wagner double majored in Art and Anthropology at the University of Pittsburgh. After graduating, she started a freelance business that she currently operates today. Some of her notable works include a twelve-foot sculpture monument of baseball player Roberto Clemente on display in Pittsburgh’s PNC Park, and a fourteen-foot tall sculpture of Jackie Robinson on display in front of the headquarters of the Jackie Robinson Foundation. In addition to private collections, Wagner’s work has been exhibited in public forums around the world, ranging from locations in Pittsburgh to the Vatican.
