"Yama Yama Land", by George Duffie Boylan, Published 1909 by Reilly & Britton Co
Item Details
‘Yama Yama Land, Where Everything is Different’ by Grace Duffie Boyan (1861-1935) and illustrated by Edgar Keller (1868-1932). The book has an illustrated paper paste down cover over brown cloth boards and was published in 1909 by The Reilly & Britton Co. Chicago. The book was inspired by a popular comic song at the time (1908) titled ‘The Yama Yama Man’ but is most noteworthy as an example of an imitation of Frank Baum’s 4th Oz book titled ‘Dorothy and the Wizard Of Oz’, especially interesting since Boylan and Baum were not only contemporaries but friends. The book is also highly coveted due to Edgar Keller’s fantastic illustrations.
