A vintage handwoven raffia Kuba textile from the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The long, narrow textile is constructed of black and white raffia panels with appliquéd geometric patterns in naturally dyed red, brown, black, and white and embellished with cowrie shells.

Condition

- some toning and fading to areas of raffia; some accretions to cowrie shells; some fraying to raffia.
