Yuengling Brewery Neon Sign

Item Details

A neon bar sign from Yuengling Brewery, America’s oldest brewery started in 1829 in Pottsville, Pennsylvania as the Eagle Brewery. A fire in 1831 destroyed the plant and a new brewery was built on Mahantongo Street in Pottsville, where the current brewery is located. In 1873 the name was changed to D.G.Yuengling & Son and during Prohibition the brewery was forced to produce both ‘near beer’ and dairy products to survive. In 1976 the brewery was placed on the national and state registers as ’America’s Oldest Brewery’. The sign features ‘Yuengling’ in red neon, with yellow neon horizontal elements, and ‘Lager on Tap’ in white neon. The back is marked ‘Neon Tech’ Model 6 AID-L, listed 71 HK, indoor Type 7.
