A bud vase by Elizabeth Neave Lincoln for Rookwood Pottery, 1923, having a peony flower decoration at the rim over a speckled ombré yellow to orange matte glaze. It is signed with appropriate marks to the underside and “AA” written in underglaze under the glaze on the base.
Elizabeth Neave Lincoln decorated for Rookwood Pottery between 1891 and 1931. She studied at the Cincinnati Art Academy and is known for her work with Standard and Vellum glazes. After her retirement from the pottery she spent the remainder of her working life in nursing.
