Margaret Helen McDonald Rookwood Pottery Vase, 1924
Item Details
A matte glazed vase by Margaret Helen McDonald, having a wreath of flowers in pale green, red-orange and yellow at the shoulder, marked to the underside with te Rookwood Mark, Artist’s mark, date and pattern number.
A native of Cincinnati, Ohio, she studied at the Cincinnati Art Academy and decorated for Rookwood between 1913 and 1948. She worked alongside her father, William Purcell McDonald, a renowned Rookwood decorator, and is known for her distinctive floral decoration.
