Item Details
A gloss drip glazed vase in blue and green by Earl Menzel, 1958, with the Rookwood mark and artist’s mark to the underside.
Beginning his career at Rookwood Pottery at the age of 13, Earl Menzel held a variety of jobs at the pottery between 1896 and 1959, the longest serving employee of the company. Under the guidance and teaching of of his father, master potter John Jacob Menzel, he became a decorator in 1950.
