Sara Sax Rookwood Pottery Queen Anne's Lace Vase, 1907
Item Details
A glossy, pastel glazed vase with a delicate pattern of Queen Anne’s Lace by Sara Sax, who decorated for Rookwood Pottery between 1896 and 1931. She is considered one of Rookwood’s finest decorators, having a fine painterly hand in a variety of glazes. A native of Cincinnati, Ohio, peacock feather patterns and colors were prominent in her work, and she is known to have mastered Rookwoods ‘French Red’ glaze and an array of types of ware for the company.
