A lithograph on rag paper by American artist Robert Longo (born 1953) titled Anne from Men in the Cities. Longo is best known for his dramatic works which display a beautiful control of medium forming hyper-realistic images. His series Men In The Cities is thought to embodied the decade of the 1980’s and pulled inspiration from the neo-noir cinema of Rainer Werner Fassbinder, punk rock musicians, and Wall Street. The artist describes the individuals in the series as ‘…doomed souls. They’re people who built the buildings that would eventually fall on them.’
Longo’s works are represented in the collections of MoMA, TATE Britain, and The Metropolitan Museum of Art as well as numerous other public and private collections.
