Brass Black Powder Horn with Fowl Scene, Mid-Late 19th Century
Item Details
An embossed brass scallop shell powder flask dating to the mid to late 19th Century. Picturing a fowl standing among wetlands, the two-piece embossed brass/copper-alloy body is mounted with four side-mounted suspension loops. There is a metal wire attached to the loops. In overall good condition with its original components throughout and appears to be functional order. Retains its original smooth brass-colored surfaces with some minor abrasions, dents, good seams and some patches of light surface-oxidation. Maybe an American example.
