Stanley Boxer was a prolific American artist from New York City, best known for his thick and textured oil paintings. He studied at the Art Students League in New York, where he worked in many mediums, including sculpture and printmaking. Boxer went on to receive critical acclaim, showing regularly in New York and being represented by Tibor de Nagy Gallery, the André Emmerich Gallery, and lastly by Salander-O’Reilly Galleries. His artwork is in the collections of many museums, including the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, the Tate Gallery in London, and the Hirshhorn Museum in Washington, DC.
