A Stephen Douglas cut signature or autograph with framed portrait print. The signature was done n black fountain pen and has received a ‘visual pass’ from a third party authenticator. Lawyer and politician Stephen Douglas, whose nickname was the ‘Little Giant,’ was born on April 23, 1813. From the State of Illinois, Stephen Douglas was the Democratic Party’s nominee for president in the 1860 election but was defeated by Republican candidate Abraham Lincoln. Douglas had previously bested Lincoln in the 1858 Illinois election for the United States Senate, which was famous for the Lincoln–Douglas fiery debates. Stephen Douglas passed away in 1861. This historic signature is framed in black wood underneath protective glass.
