Member of the Boston Art Club, Horace P. Giles was a muralist, landscape painter, and crayon portraitist. Records show that he worked in San Francisco as a fresco painter, however was primarily based in Boston. He is particularly known for his landscape paintings often portrayed in the American Barbizon style.

Condition

- discoloration and accretion to surface; craquelure to paint, with flaking paint loss along the lower edge; discoloration and water stains to canvas verso; scuffs, marks, and edge wear to frame.
