Ernest Tino Trova is a self-taught sculptor and painter associated with Surrealism and Pop Art. He is perhaps best-known for his Falling Man sculptural series which featured an armless abstract male figure. As seen in this work, the artist also created paintings and prints featuring his iconic Falling Man as a repeated silhouetted figure positioned in geometric settings. Trova’s work has been exhibited and collected by numerous reputable institutions including the Museum of Modern Art, the Whitney Museum of American Art, the Guggenheim Museum, the Tate, and the Walker Art Center, among others.
