Hepplewhite Mahogany Secretary Bookcase, Late 19th Century

An antique Hepplewhite serpentine secretary/bookcase. Purchased from Clossons of Cincinnati, this antique mahogany secretary is a four-piece unit that features turret accented end bookcases, with a setback center bookcase. All three bookcases are detailed with divided-lights, glass door panels, and custom lined moire ivory tone fabric to the interior. The lower secretary features a banded inlay on mahogany, with a drop down green embossed leather writing surface and interior compartments. The doors and drawers to each side are accented with diamond-shaped bone escutcheons and octagonal pull hardware.
