Notable outsider artist, Charles A. Owens was born in Maysville, Kentucky and is known for his portraits and farmscapes of Ohio and Kentucky. He was interested in art from an early age but received no formal art education. Apart from art, Owens dabbled in a myriad of other jobs over his lifetime including chef, truck driver, mechanic, and even bootlegger. In 1949, Owens settled in Columbus, Ohio and his work now resides in many private collections.
