A 1970s vintage Pauline Trigère woven linen kaftan with matching scarf in tan with a dyed black zebra pattern. The kaftan has two button closures to the back of neckline, buttons to the sleeve ends, an inseam pocket to each side and a silk lining. The matching scarf features a zebra print field surrounded by a wide tan border with natural wrap fringe to each side. Brand labels are attached to each item. Made in the United States with imported fabric.
Pauline Trigère (1908 – 2002) was a French born American couturier. She won her first prestigious Coty American Fashion Critics’ Award in 1949. She received the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Council of Fashion Designers of America in 1993. A few of her most famous clients included Jacqueline Kennedy, Grace Kelly, Wallis Simpson, Bette Davis, and Elizabeth Taylor.
