1775 Continental Congress $3 Currency Note

Item Details

A 1775 Continental Congress $3 currency note. Dated May 10th, 1775, note depicts an emblem of an eagle fighting a heron with the motto ‘Exitus In Dubio Est’ (‘The outcome is in doubt’) on the front, and the back depicts a nature print of a skeletonized elm and maple fruit. Note has two handwritten signatures on the front, along with a handwritten serial number of 31321. Printed by Hall and Sellers, 1775. Note is circulated; four small holes have been worn into it. Note measures 3 5/8′ × 2 3/4’.
