Silk Chiffon Dress Accented in Black Attributed to James Galanos, 1970s Vintage

A 1970s vintage couture silk chiffon dress attributed to designer James Galanos. The dress is in nude silk chiffon accented in black piping with V-neckline and fabric buttons, long sleeves, pleated waist and pleated skirt. The dress is unlabeled but is attributed to James Galanos. The dress was purchased from the Estate of Betsy Pickering Kaiser.

Betsy Pickering Kaiser was a model, longtime friend and muse for James Galanos. She was on many magazines in the 1970s including the cover of Vogue, Town & Country, and Harper’s Bazaar.

Condition

- light wear to thread and lower hem.

- measures dress laid flat.
- size unmarked, 15.5" shoulders, 42" bust, 31" waist, 44" hips, 23" sleeve length, 51" back length.
