Reputable illustrator Saul Tepper was based in New York, and studied at the Landon School of Art, The Cooper Union, the Art Students League, and the Grand Central Art School under Harvey Dunn. In addition to producing advertisements for major brands such as General Electric, Coca-Cola, Mobil, and Texaco, he also created illustrations for a number of major magazines including The Saturday Evening Post, Liberty Magazine_, Woman’s Home Companion, and American Magazine, among others. Tepper was the recipient of several prestigious awards, and in 1980, he was inducted into the Society of Illustrators Hall of Fame.
Condition
- some discolored spots throughout unpainted areas of the canvas; painting examined under black light; spot tarnish, cracks, abrasions, and loss throughout silver gilt of fillet; distressing and wear to the frame.
