An oil painting on canvas titled “The Pond” by well-known Canadian artist and educator George Agnew Reid (1860 – 1947). During Reid’s education career he was President of the Royal Canadian Academy of Arts, President of the Ontario Society of Artists, and Principle of the Ontario College of Art. He was also one of the first Canadian artists to have a global artistic presence. This painting is an excellent representation of his painterly style depicting a pond surrounded by trees and a field. It is housed in a gold gilt gesso and wood frame.
