A set of Towle sterling silver flatware in wooden chest, circa 1920s. This ninety-seven piece set features Towel’s Old Colonial pattern. There is one small olive spoon, eight butter spreaders, eight iced beverage spoons, eight table knives, sixteen teaspoons, eight dessert spoons, eight table forks, eight dessert forks, eight salad forks, eight soup spoons, four jelly spoons, one berry spoon, one sauce ladle, one serving spoon, two master butter knives, six demitasse spoons and one spreading hollow handled knife. The wooden chest holding the flatware is lined with a dark brown felt interior, has two brass handles to both sides and a drawer under the main compartment. Stamped to the underside of each piece is the Towle pictorial mark ‘925/1000’ and ‘Sterling’. The total approximate weight of all sterling pieces is 105.41 ozt.
