A sixth edition of the popular The Triumphs of Gods Revenge by John Reynolds (English, circa 1588-circa 1655), a treatise on the history of murder. Included in the 1679 edition is a ‘never printed before’ title Gods Revenge Against the Abominable Sin of Adultery. Extensively illustrated with copperplate engravings throughout with a full page frontispiece.
Ex libris: Courtlandt F. Bishop (American, 1870-1935); red and gilt bookplate affixed to inner board. American aviation pioneer and renowned book collector.
