1478 "Lactantius Furmiani De Deiuinis Institutioibus" Incunable

Item Details

An inculable folio dated March 12, 1478. Printed by Andreas de Paltasichis (Andrija Paltašić, circa 1440-circa 1500) and Bonino de Boninis (Dobrić Dobrićević, 1454-1528), the only known collaboration between the two Venetian-based printers. Paltasichis is regarded as the first south Slavic printer. An early printing of the theological work Institutiones Divinae (The Divine Institutes) by Lactantius (Lucius Caecilius Firmianus Lactantius, circa 250-circa 325).

- Some scuffing and scratches to front board with bumed corners; binding tight; marbled front flyleaf detached; missing frontice page (a1), pages bright and clean, gilt page edges with some fading; late gatherings show some staining to page edges not affecting text; minor worming; page damage and repair on leaf b1.
