Celebrated American photographer George Tice was particularly known for his black and white silver gelatin and platinum photographs of native New Jersey, and American rural and suburban landscapes, particularly featuring Amish and Shaker communities. He worked as a printer for Edward Steichen in addition to printing the portolios of Frederick Evans and Edward Weston. His work has been exhibited internationally by multiple prestigious institutions including the Museum of Modern Art, the J. Paul Getty Museum, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and the Art Institute of Chicago, among others.
