Born in Ohio, Floyd Gahman was particularly known for his landscapes and cityscapes of the mid-Atlantic area and New England. Under the Work Projects Administration, he taught at New York City settlement houses, and later at Brooklyn College and Pennsylvania State University. His work has been collected by the Smithsonian American Art Museum and the Earth and Mineral Science Museum at Pennsylvania State University, among other institutions.

- minor craquelure, negligible finish loss, small areas of discoloration and minor areas of gesso loss throughout the frame.
