A selection of six abstract marker and pen line drawings on paper by well-listed American Abstract Expressionist Paul Chidlaw (Cincinnati, 1900 – 1989). Each drawing is comprised of organic lines, creating a composition at times referencing figures and landscapes. One drawing is signed, and all are marked to the verso with a stamp from the artist’s estate. These pieces are unframed and await your choice of presentation. A portion of the proceeds will benefit Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center.

Chidlaw was born in Cleves, Ohio and studied at both the Cincinnati Art Academy and L’Ecole des Beaux Arts in Fontainebleau, France. He returned to Cincinnati where he then taught at the Art Academy mentoring many students. He was considered a pioneer of the Abstract movement, at the time, and he remains one of Cincinnati’s best-loved native artists. His artwork is displayed at the Cincinnati Art Museum and Xavier University.
