Richard Hunt is known for his abstract figural and nature themed biomorphic sculptures and sketches, and he studied at the Art Institute of Chicago. While still a student, Hunt’s work Arachne was purchased by the Museum of Modern Art in New York, where in 1971 he had a solo exhibition. Since then, Hunt has become a prolific public sculptor with many of his works on display not only in museums including the Whitney Museum of American Art and the Metropolitan Museum of Art but also on the streets of Chicago and other American cities.

Deaccessioned from the Art Academy of Cincinnati’s Collection. Proceeds to benefit future student programs. Founded in 1869, The Art Academy of Cincinnati is celebrating their 150th anniversary this year through the sale of limited works in the Collection.

- some marks to the edges of the mat; marks and abrasions to frame; slight gap to the lower right corner of the frame; tape residue to the upper edge of frame.
