German Language Album of the 1932 Los Angeles Olympics

Item Details

A large album titled Die Olympischen Spiele in Los Angeles 1932, a German language record of the 1932 Summer Games in Los Angeles. It is copiously illustrated with pasted-in color and black-and-white lithograph reproductions of photographs of the event and athletes, and bound in a blue cloth hardcover with black lettering and a gilt Olympic rings design. Note that, in contrast to the Berlin games of 1936, Nazi iconography is not present on the German uniforms etc., as Hitler would not take full power until 1933. A photograph of then-President of Germany Paul Von Hindenburg appears to the front of the volume.
