Herend porcelain has served Queen Victoria her dinner, and has been hailed as the pinnacle of supreme porcelain. Known as “white gold”, Herend is the biggest porcelain manufactory in Europe – founded in 1826 in the small village of Herend, Hungary. Herend first rose to notoriety by producing dinnerware replacement pieces for Europe’s royal families of patterns from Germany and the Far East. In addition to hand-painted dinnerware sets, Herend went on to create meticulously-crafted figurines.
