Bilhuber and his son spent many a weekend visiting the property on New York’s Long Island. “Hay Fever” was built in 1668 and over time was crafted into a beautiful example of Bilhuber’s work philosophy – respecting history while optimistically looking toward the future. Bilhuber spent years renovating and searching for the perfect pieces to accent each room while incorporating a mix of styles from Dutch Colonial to Quaker. The variety of traditional styles and bold colors in the contents give off major grandmillennial vibes, the home is filled with antique furnishings and handcrafted decor from the last few centuries; yet has a modern sensibility.

Along with honoring the past with the decor, the bedrooms are each named after Revolutionary war generals.
Jeffrey’s strengths of mixing colors, styles and periods comes to life around every corner, each room of the home is effortlessly eclectic, giving the impression these items have been slowly collecting over centuries. The mix of items are all brought together with common threads of vibrant colors, bold patterns and antlers found throughout the house.
